Provenance QR codes and labels

A provenance page is a public "wine passport": consumers scan a QR on the bottle and see the story behind it — origin, fermentation journey, cellar history and your winemaker's description. You choose exactly what appears. Provenance QR codes are free on every plan.

Publish a provenance page

1. Open a wine and go to its Wine Showcase, then the Provenance & Signing tab.
2. Press Create provenance record — this generates the unique public token behind your QR.
3. Fill in the Bottling Information: bottling date, lot number, closure, format and cases produced.
4. Under Consumer page sections, toggle what consumers see — origin/vineyard, fermentation journey, cellar history, what's in your bottle, batch/lot numbers, gravity readings, ABV, winemaker notes, bottling details and your winery profile. (Chemicals are off by default.)
5. Press Save provenance settings, then Publish.

The page is now live at /p/{token}. Use View consumer page ↗ to check it, and Unpublish any time to take it private. On the Overview tab you can also set the official tasting description and the winemaker's description that appear on the page. All your records are listed together under Provenance Records (/provenance).

Get the QR onto a bottle

The Showcase's Label & QR tab gives you a quick label with the QR embedded, plus Download .png / .jpg buttons for the QR alone. For finished artwork, open the full Label designer (/wines/{id}/designer):

1. Pick a Template and adjust the size, palette and fonts.
2. Edit the text fields (wine name, vintage, producer, region, ABV line and more) — they're pre-filled from your wine data.
3. Under Label art, upload an image or use your wine photo.
4. Under QR codes, choose the provenance QR for the back (and optionally the front).
5. Press Save design, then Export print PDF — the PDF exports at exact label dimensions with 3 mm bleed and crop marks, ready for any label printer.

Digitally sign the record (free on all tiers)

Signing lets anyone verify that the provenance data really came from you:

1. Open your account menu and choose Signing key (/settings/signing-key) and press Generate keypair. The key is created in your browser.
2. Press Save & Upload — your public key is registered and your private key downloads as a .pem file. Store it safely; it cannot be recovered.
3. Back on the wine's Provenance & Signing tab, press Sign this record, load your .pem file and press Sign.

Editing a signed record clears the signature, so re-sign after changes.

Scan analytics

Scan analytics (/scan-analytics) shows every scan of your provenance pages, aggregated with no personal data. Estate plans see totals and per-wine counts; the Winery plan adds country, device and daily-trend breakdowns. EU e-label pages are never tracked.
