This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar local-storage technologies that makewine.app uses. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What we use

Strictly necessary (no consent required): we store your login session token in your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in, and a small flag to remember if you dismissed the “install app” banner. The app also registers a service worker to enable offline/PWA features. These are essential to operate the service.
Payments: when you check out, Stripe may set cookies needed to process the payment securely and prevent fraud.
Analytics: we use Plausible, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. It sets no cookies and collects no personal data about you, and it only loads if you accept analytics in the consent banner.

2. Consent

On your first visit we show a consent banner. Essential storage (sign-in, payments) is always active because the service can’t work without it. Non-essential analytics are only enabled if you choose “Accept all”; choosing “Reject non-essential” means no analytics are loaded. Your choice is remembered in your browser.

You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the site footer.

3. Managing cookies & local storage

Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to review or withdraw consent. You can also clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Note that clearing local storage will sign you out, and disabling essential storage may break parts of the app.

We’ll update this policy if our use of cookies changes, and revise the “last updated” date above.
